I’m a New York City author and journalist who covers business, media, tech, culture, theater, and other cool things.
I’m a senior editor for Fast Company where I run the news desk. Before that, I was deputy media and culture editor of International Business Times and a theater critic for Newsweek. I was also managing editor of Show Business Weekly for six years. My writing has appeared in Wired, Vice News, Condé Nast Traveler, The Independent, Salon, Seattle magazine and elsewhere.
My debut memoir, Uneducated, will be published by Little, Brown and Company in spring 2023. The book is a highly personal map of our growing education divide that confronts the stigma of being degreeless in a 21st-century knowledge economy. In it, I recount my often clumsy, sometimes farscial attempts to assimilate as a high-school dropout in the pedigree-obsessed world of New York City media.
In other news, I recently sold most of my vital organs to private equity, so I no longer wonder about what happens when we die.
