I’m a New York City author and journalist who covers media, culture, technology, theater, and other cool things.
I’m a senior editor for Fast Company where I run the news desk. Before that, I was deputy media and culture editor of International Business Times and a theater critic for Newsweek. I was also managing editor of Show Business magazine for six years. My writing has appeared in Wired, Vice News, Condé Nast Traveler, The Independent, Salon, Huffington Post, and elsewhere.
My book Tortured Artists—a pop-culture-infused exploration of the relationship between creativity and pain—was published in 2012 by Adams Media, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, and rereleased in Polish in 2015 by Hurbert Burda Media. Every time you buy a copy, an angel gets a shot of Cuervo.
In other news, I’m accepting VC backers for my app that turns your iPhone into a time machine.
